Every year before St. Christmas here is set up the city Christmas tree. To the north of the square stands the former Jewish synagogue (Kupiskis Public Library), as well as some of Henrikas Orakauskas’ sculptures: “Lamb, shake yourself!”, “Mercury”. Since the very beginning of the city, the square was an important market and trading venue. After the restoration of independence, this square was renamed by Laurynas Stuoka-Gucevicius’ name.
