The project "Sengirės kinas", which combines cinema and environmental protection, invites Kupiškis residents and guests to a meaningful film screening and discussion. The event will take place on September 24 (Tuesday) at 1:00 p.m. at the Kupiškis Public Library.

1:00 p.m. – Screening of the documentary film "We Are the Fruits of the Forest" .

After the film , there will be a presentation and conversation by philosopher, ecophilosophy and biopolitics researcher Mantas Davidavičius about the Lithuanian relationship with nature, its change, and the worldview lessons of the Bunong community for modern man.

Filmed over several years by renowned French-Khmer filmmaker Rithy Panho, this documentary takes us to the remote highlands of northeastern Cambodia. The Bunong people, who still cherish their ancestral traditions and live in harmony with the mountain nature and forests, still live here.
Today, this way of life is seriously threatened by climate change and intensive land development by multinational corporations. Combining present-day footage with archival material, the director reveals the transformations of the community's history and raises the fundamental question: what kind of relationship should modern man build with nature?
