The "Green" Room

Here you can see a picture of the life of the gentlemen of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This was the last room of the manor wing, decorated with decorative wall paintings (a small fragment was uncovered during the restoration of the manor in 1996-2004). In the corner is a beautiful fireplace made of green glazed tiles decorated with floral ornaments with a surviving metal grille and cover. The tiles were made to order. Here is also the only surviving item from the manor, a round table with a tablecloth made with meticulous embroidery, and a box of the manor's jewelry. The table was preserved by Ona Starkutė, the niece of the last gentleman, Adamas Vilėniškis, who brought it to her home in the village of Adomynė after nationalization.

The painting “The Altar of the Holy Name and the Items for Calling the Sick” hanging on the wall in a small oak-framed cabinet is very rare in Lithuania. It consists of two parts: in the upper niche of the cabinet behind the glass there is a chalk figure of the Pieta, and in the lower part, under the inscription “Blessed be the name of the Lord”, there is a copy of the world-famous painting “The Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci. If you take the scrolled candlesticks out of the cabinet and light the consecrated candles, the painting will turn into a small altar. Here we will also find a prayer book, a bottle of holy water, a silver spoon, a small bell and a spatula for extinguishing the candle. We will use all of them only when a person leaves this earthly world. This “Picture of the Happy Departure” is not used on any other occasion.

In an old wardrobe hangs the manor's clothes, which are out of date, and mannequins decorated with gentlemen's clothes, made according to the fashion of the time a couple of years ago. They are used to represent the manor during events, welcoming distinguished guests in Adomynė.
