The park is named after the local painter and graphic artist Kazys Šimonis. There grow oak, pine and birch trees. There is a football stadium in the park. Kazys Šimonis street crosses the park. The southern part of Kazys Šimonis Park is also called Račiupis Park. The Račiupis stream crosses Račiupis park. Also there is a small pond, which was formed after the stream was dammed. At the center of the pond stands the sculpture-fountain 'Balts World Tree' created by sculptor Henrikas Orakauskas (unveiled in 2005). The sculpture-fountain can be reached by the bridge. 'Balts World Tree' is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city of Kupiškis. There are paths, flower beds and original benches decorated with metal birds next to it.
